About

As a generation we are no longer satisfied with the status quo of work. Trust and respect for ‘big business’ is at an all time low, and I find so many people looking to escape the hamster wheel and find ways to make a living and make a difference in the world.

It is possible for each one of us to marry our passion with a social conscience, and be part of ‘value-creating’ (not just profit-creating) sustainable enterprises. A cultural shift is happening and the intersection of business, social enterprise and non-profit is a fascinating point of much innovation and thought leadership.

This is what this blog is about. Every week I will post updates exploring ideas from some of the leading thinkers in this area – from business leaders, executive coaches and non-profit CEOs – who are having a huge impact. Luckily I get to meet these people all the time!

I’m going to keep it practical too with examples from my own experience as I develop a social business in 2012. If it doesn’t work for me I won’t share it.

So whether you are passionate about a social cause, or you want to change the way you do business – there will be something here to inspire and encourage you. I hope you enjoy and please comment.

A bit more about me – some of my passionate interests are empowering women and girls in Africa through education to eradicate poverty, successful models for transformational change in developing nations, sustainable social enterprises, non-profits having a huge impact, reading non-fiction books (especially on management and business) and travelling.
